The White Lion Inn

Went for the first time a couple of weeks ago - moved into the area during Covid restrictions - and very impressed. Friendly staff, low beams and hot coal fires, plus a choice of cask ales. Also, the menu choice was extensive and very reasonably priced - and the meals were excellent. Recommended

Beautiful and very friendly pub in a gorgeous village. We stopped as part of a long journey up the M6 and you would never know you were close to the motorway as it feels so idyllic. Delicious food and lovely staff.

****BEST PUB ROAST AWARD WINNER (from me)*** I'm always on the search for a decent roast, but I have ridiculously high standards and unfortunately most pub roasts fit into the 'meh' category for me. I had the mixed turkey and beef today and it was AMAZING. The best roast I've had that u didn't make myself. That's saying a lot. Gravy was thick and tasty, meat was perfect and decent portions. The Yorkshire felt a little like an afterthought but I can forgive that because the roast was so good. Can't recommend this highly enough.
